Norwegian customs officers were left scratching their heads when a Chinese tourist arrived at Oslo airport with 125kg of Norwegian coinage in his luggage.

The 29-year-old man was carrying four sacks of ten and 20 kronor coins which he said he bought for a total of 15,000 kronor (£1,207). But customs discovered that the coins had a face value closer to 221,000 kroner (£17,791). Because the man hadn't declared the currency, the matter was handed over to the police, but if no criminal intent is found, he'll be able to keep the cash, minus a 20% fine.
